Things I've been playing with recently .....

Mojolicious A Non blocking web framework for Perl.

Simply brilliant, not sure how I managed before. Previously I'd written my own framework which was cgi based, and lasted for a while, but it lacked support for newer web technologies.
Mojolicious lets me create a basic authenticated site, and then drop in applications as I create them. Controllers and Routes are created in the applications, so they can be easily tested offline
If you're looking for a perl framework, look no further

Aptana Studio 3

I've tried various IDE's before, my requirements are support for Perl, Java, Python, HTML, css.
This handles everything and more, built in support for Git, has it's own system that allows you to revert back to various versions of files, allows comparison between revisions of files etc etc.

Tasker

Awesome Android application to automate just about everything you could want.
Once you've used it's powerful functions you'll never be able to use an iPhone again !
I use it to automate wifi switching at home, turn on/off gps as I leave wifi zones, turn on roaming data and automatically turn it off at midnight to avoid further charges, put the phone to sleep at night turning off all services, sounds etc, and do the reverse in the morning.
Want to automatically turn off your screen lock when you're connected to wifi at home ? couldn't be easier

Simple, fast, lots of help/support ..... and very very cheap !
Can't recommend Digital Ocean enough, after various issues with previous hosting companies, Digital Ocean offer a great service and excellent value for money.
